I’ve lived in Texas my whole life and have many vivid memories of gorgeous fields filled with bluebonnets.  Unfortunately, it seems we rarely have as many as we did when I was a child, but this year was exceptional!  I happened across this field in Georgetown and just had to photograph it.  Isn’t it amazing?!

I had the pleasure of working with these two little beauties for the first time and it was so much fun.  Ella and Juliet were so sweet and had a blast roaming the field and picking a few flowers here and there (shhh…don’t tell!).

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jennifer before, and now I’ve finally had a chance to meet her fiance Seth.  What a lovely couple they make!  We had a great time exploring the Long Center grounds and finding fun spots for portraits.  Jennifer and Seth are getting married next weekend in Dallas.  Congrats guys!!

Little Miss Kinley was my first subject after my maternity leave and she was an absolute doll to work with.  She’s just over two weeks old here and just as tiny and precious as can be!  We had a lot of fun with this little gal and her assortment of hats.  I mean seriously, how adorable is a baby girl in a bunny hat just in time for Easter?!

My new little addition!

April 20, 2012

Sorry I’ve been so out of touch! As some of you may know I’ve been a little busy with this little guy. Meet Benjamin Hays Russell! Benjamin was born on January 25th at 6lbs 9oz, 19 inches.
I’m still adjusting to this crazy new life as a parent, but I’m starting to get back to work now as well. My first session back was a newborn session and was tons of fun and I have a whole new understanding of what my newborn clients are going through! I’m hoping to get some of those images posted soon, especially the ones with the bunny ears!

You may remember seeing this little cutie on my blog before when we took her newborn and 6 month portraits.  Adelaide was sweet enough to come in to model some hats and scarfs made by the staff and customers of Gauge Knits for me.  We weren’t sure she’d keep the hats on long enough to get any good shots, but were pleasantly surprised when she started hamming it up for the camera.  Apparently this little lady likes fashion!

Alex’s Senior Portraits

December 19, 2011

Alex is a high school senior at Regents School of Austin and will be graduating this spring.  She plays golf at Regents and has just been awarded a scholarship to SMU to continue playing golf in college.  Congrats Alex!

We took Alex’s senior pictures out by Bull Creek here in Austin.  Our portrait session was just perfect.  Alex was fun to work with and a gorgeous model, we had perfect weather amidst a bunch of cold rainy days, and we got some great portraits for her!  Oh, and did I mention how cool her boots are?

Bourgeois Family Portrait

December 2, 2011

I had the pleasure of photographing the Bourgeois family just a few weeks back on the grounds of the Long Center.  I felt very fortunate to have both gorgeous weather and a gorgeous family to work with!

I always really enjoy photographing extended family portraits.  It’s so fun to see the family dynamic when all of the generations come together.  Each family is so unique and yet there is that same something special that brings and keeps them together.

Don’t forget to celebrate your family this holiday season!

I know I always say this, but I just love having the opportunity to work with my wedding clients again and see them change and grow into a family.  It’s just so much fun to see these tiny little people that are a perfect meld of such a beautiful couple.

I had the pleasure of photographing Stephen and Meghan’s wedding just a few years back and now I’m getting to meet their precious little Charlotte.  She’s just a little over a week old in these newborn portraits and is just as cute as can be!  She slept through most of our portrait session, but still managed to give us a few smiles and some seriously cute stares.

Shooting Amanda’s graduation portraits was so much fun!  Amanda is gorgeous and full of grace, which always makes my job that much easier.  Also, I always love shooting on campus and seeing how much it’s changed since I went to school there.

Amanda is finishing up her senior year at the University of Texas School of Nursing and is graduating this December with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing.  Her whole family came along to our session and is clearly very proud of her.  Congrats Amanda!

The Pumpkin Portrait Days in the studio were tons of fun!   These are a couple of my favorite portraits from the event.  What cuties!
